Descrizione:Methacrifos is a carbamate insecticide that is used to control pests such as mites and beetles. Methacrifos inhibits acetylcholinesterase, which leads to the accumulation of acetylcholine at nerve endings and results in paralysis. The chemical structure of methacrifos consists of a phenoxy group, an ethylene diamine, a methyl group, and a nitro group. Acetylcholinesterase inhibition by methacrifos has been shown to be reversible. This insecticide can also cause cross-reactivity with other organophosphates when used for sample preparation or for nitro reactions.
