Descrizione:Meclinertant (MT) is a neurotensin receptor antagonist that blocks the action of this neurotransmitter on its receptors in the brain and spinal cord. MT has been shown to block neurotensin receptor-mediated glutamate release, cytosolic calcium mobilization, and mitochondrial membrane potential changes in cells. The biological properties of MT have been shown to be useful in treating cancer and radiation-induced damage, as well as for reducing symptoms associated with Parkinson's disease. The pharmacological activity of MT may be due to inhibition of MMP-9 activity and locomotor activity.
