Descrizione:MGK 264 is a pyrimidine compound that has been shown to be effective against a wide range of animal species. It is used as an analytical reagent for the detection of urethane in urine samples and has been shown to have detoxification effects on rats. MGK 264 inhibits the activity of epoxide hydrolase, which catalyzes the hydrolysis of epoxides, including 2,6-dichloro-1,4-benzoquinone (DHQ). The enzyme DHQ is involved in the metabolism of many drugs and natural compounds and can lead to drug toxicity. MGK 264 also inhibits other detoxification enzymes such as CYP2C11, CYP2C19, CYP2D6, and CYP3A4. These enzymes are responsible for the metabolism of various drugs and environmental chemicals. Inhibition of these enzymes leads to increased half-lives for these drugs in vivo.
