Descrizione:Medronic acid is a drug that is used for the treatment of chronic bowel disease. Medronic acid is a prodrug, which is converted to its active form, meclofenamic acid, by esterases in the bowel. Medronic acid has been shown to inhibit the activity of 5-lipoxygenase and cyclooxygenase-2 enzymes, and thereby reduce inflammation. It also decreases the production of prostaglandins and leukotrienes in humans. Medronic acid has been shown to be an effective treatment for bone cancer with no significant side effects.
