Descrizione:Mesopram is a prodrug of the antidepressant drug duloxetine, which has been shown to be effective in the treatment of inflammatory bowel disease. It is a selective serotonin and norepinephrine reuptake inhibitor (SNRI) that acts by blocking the reabsorption of these neurotransmitters from the synaptic cleft. The anti-inflammatory effects may also be due to its ability to inhibit nuclear factor kappa-light-chain-enhancer (NF-κB), which is a transcription factor that regulates many inflammatory responses. Mesopram has been shown to have an effect on locomotor activity, intracellular calcium levels, axonal growth, and camp levels.
