• Descrizione: N-(4-Methoxybenzyl)-N'-methyl-N-2-pyridinyl-1,2-ethanediamine (MBPEN) is an antihistamine with a predominately central nervous system action. It has been shown to be effective in treating allergic rhinitis and asthma. MBPEN is metabolized by the liver to the n-oxide and then the maleate. The parent drug and its metabolites are excreted primarily in the urine. The majority of toxicological studies on MBPEN have been conducted on rhesus monkeys, and these studies show that this drug has statistically significant effects on metabolic profiles as well as chromatographic patterns.
