• Descrizione: 2-Methoxyethylphenol (2-MEHP) is a chemical compound that is used as a polymerization initiator in the manufacture of plastics. It has also been shown to have sublethal effects on organisms, such as light emission and morphology changes. 2-MEHP is produced by the reaction of 2-methoxyethanol with hydrogen peroxide in the presence of a metal catalyst, such as copper. The diameter of these particles ranges from 1.5 to 10 micrometers, which are larger than most atmospheric particles due to their high reactivity.
