Informazioni sul prodotto
- 2-Methyl-5-(2-pyrrolidinyl)-pyridine5-(2-Pyrrolidinyl)-2-picoline
6-Methyl nornicotine is a pyridine derivative that is used in the manufacture of insecticides. This compound is a protonated form of nicotine and has been shown to have insecticidal effects. 6-Methyl nornicotine can be synthesized from nicotine by treatment with sodium borohydride in the presence of pyridine. The major products are 6-methyl-, 5,6-dimethyl-, and 5,6,7-trimethylnornicotine. 6-Methyl nornicotine is basic and has hydrogen bonding abilities. It also has a nitrogen atom that can bond to an oxygen atom in pyridine to form a six membered ring structure called a pyridinium ring.
