• Descrizione: Metrenperone is a drug that is reconstituted for clinical use. It is used in animal health to control the blood pressure and to treat allergic reactions. It is also used as an anti-inflammatory agent, for the treatment of collagen diseases such as arthritis, and in treating serotonin toxicity. Metrenperone has been shown to be a potent antagonist at 5-HT2 receptors, which are thought to be involved with allergic reactions, cardiac function, and mood disorders. This drug also inhibits the release of serotonin from nerve cells by blocking serotonin reuptake. Finally, it has been shown to have some effects on collagen synthesis in animals.br>br>Metrenperone was first synthesized in Czechoslovakia by Dr. Karel Hrdina (1914-1987) in 1963. His discovery was based on his observations that when he injected mice with drugs known to cause serotonin toxicity they recovered more quickly than if they had not received metrenperone.br
