Informazioni sul prodotto
Magnesium carbonate is a white solid that occurs naturally as the mineral magnesite. It is produced by reacting magnesium hydroxide with carbon dioxide at high temperatures and pressures. Magnesium carbonate can be used to remove heavy metals from wastewater, such as lead and mercury. The reaction solution is then treated with sodium citrate to precipitate heavy metal ions, which are removed by filtration. This process leaves magnesium carbonate crystals that are anhydrous, meaning they have no water molecules attached to them. Anhydrous magnesium carbonate has a density of 2.8 g/cm3 and a molar mass of 120 g/mol. Magnesium carbonate has a thermal expansion coefficient of 1.2 x 10-6 K-1 which is nearly twice that of water vapor (0.5 x 10-6 K-1).
