4-Methoxy-N-methylbenzylamine is a synthesized compound that is structurally similar to piperazine. It has been synthesized using the Chloramine T method and has been shown to be active as an amine receptor ligand. This molecule binds to the amine receptor site of the GABAA receptor with high affinity, inhibiting chloride ion flow. The functional groups on this molecule are likely responsible for its binding activity. 4-Methoxy-N-methylbenzylamine may be useful in the treatment of scopolamine-induced amnesia, due to its ability to bind to specific receptors in the brain.
