Descrizione:2-(3-Methoxyphenyl)ethanethioamide (2-MPAET) is an activated form of 3-methoxyphenylacetic acid (3-MPAA). It is a herbicide that inhibits the growth of plants by interfering with the synthesis of proteins. 2-MPAET is used to control weeds in crops such as oilseed and lettuce, as well as in forestry plantations. It has been shown to increase the growth of tectorum, a type of cereal grain, which makes it useful for weed control in areas where this crop is grown. 2-MPAET can also be applied to other types of plants before they are harvested to inhibit the production of proteinase inhibitors that would otherwise prevent protein breakdown during storage and processing. This chemical has not been shown to have any significant effects on animals or humans.
