Descrizione:4-Methoxy-1-naphthoic acid is a ligand that binds to and inhibits the activity of an enzyme. It is a decanedioic acid that has been shown to be effective in inhibiting fungal growth, but not bacterial growth. 4-Methoxy-1-naphthoic acid was used as a starting material for the synthesis of anti-cancer drugs, such as decanoyl adenine dinucleotide. The compound has also been used in drug development against microbial infections, with promising results against Candida albicans and Aspergillus fumigatus. 4-Methoxy-1-naphthoic acid can be synthesized by irradiation of norbornadiene with UV light or by dehydrative coupling of dihydrocarveol with maleic anhydride.
