Descrizione

7-Methoxycoumarin is a caffeic acid derivative that has significant cytotoxicity and anti-inflammatory activity. It binds to the enzyme sorbitol dehydrogenase, which is involved in the metabolism of carbohydrates. 7-Methoxycoumarin inhibits the release of glucose from cells by blocking the production of ATP in these cells. This compound also inhibits primary sclerosing cholangitis, an autoimmune disease that damages bile ducts. 7-Methoxycoumarin has been shown to have inhibitory properties against toll-like receptor 4 (TLR4), which is a protein on the cell membrane that recognizes bacterial lipopolysaccharides.
