Descrizione:4-Methylquinoline-2-thiol is an organic compound with the formula (CH3)2C6H4NOS. It is a white solid that is soluble in water and many organic solvents. 4-Methylquinoline-2-thiol has been shown to be a potent inhibitor of cleavage activity, which may be due to its ability to bind covalently to the active site of proteases. This compound also has strong binding constants with amines and disulphides. When heated, 4-methylquinoline-2-thiol undergoes thermal denaturation, losing its activity as an inhibitor.
