4-Methoxy-2',4',6'-trihydroxydihydrochalcone is an amide that is categorized as a pharmaceutical formulation. It has potent inhibitory activity against the cyclooxygenase enzyme and can be used for the treatment of inflammation. This compound also has a plant source, which includes propolis, chalcones, and other compounds. 4-Methoxy-2',4',6'-trihydroxydihydrochalcone reduces platelet aggregation by inhibiting the activation of platelets and their release from bone marrow. This drug may also have antiplatelet effects due to its methyl ester form, which blocks thromboxane synthesis by competing with cyclooxygenase for arachidonic acid.
