• Descrizione: Monoethyl succinate is a dicarboxylic acid that is soluble in water. It has been shown to be a potent activator of toll-like receptor 4, which is involved in the innate immune system. The rate constant for dimethyl fumarate binding to the receptor was determined by polymer compositions with a solid phase microextraction technique. Experimental solubility data and x-ray crystal structures were used to determine the coordination geometry of the butanedioic acid moiety and its monoethyl ether moiety. Monoethyl succinate has been shown to activate antigen binding molecules and inhibit TNF-α production by human monocytes, which may be due to its ability to bind with toll-like receptors on cells.
