Descrizione:7-O-Methylmangiferin is a triterpenoid saponin that can be found in the perennial herb, Mangifera indica. It is a natural product of the biosynthesis of mannose and glucose. 7-O-Methylmangiferin has been isolated from the plant and purified by high performance liquid chromatography (HPLC). The compound has been shown to have dose-dependent effects on rat plasma cholesterol levels and also inhibits the production of lipids in hepatic cells. It has also been shown to inhibit bacterial growth as well as act as an anti-inflammatory agent in vitro.
