Descrizione:
5-Methoxy-1-indanone is a carbonyl compound that is an interaction product of sodamide and methylene. It has been shown to have estrogenic activity and may be used in the treatment of cancer. Mechanistic studies suggest that 5-methoxy-1-indanone binds to estrogen receptors in the cancer cell, which triggers a cascade of events leading to the induction of apoptosis. This compound also interacts with DNA and exhibits anticancer properties. 5-Methoxy-1-indanone has been shown to inhibit the growth of cancer cells in vitro by causing cell cycle arrest at G2/M phase and inducing apoptosis.
