Descrizione:(+/-)-2-methyl-4-phenyl-1,2,3,4-tetrahydroisoquinolin-8-amine maleate is a bicyclic heterocycle that has been shown to interact with dopamine receptor activity and the uptake of dopamine in a model system. It also has been shown to have cardiac effects by inhibiting release of norepinephrine and increasing heart rate. (+/-)-2-methyl-4-phenyl-1,2,3,4-tetrahydroisoquinolin-8-amine maleate has been used as an antihypertensive drug for the treatment of high blood pressure and has been found to be beneficial for patients with bowel disease. The drug can cause nausea or vomiting after administration and should not be used by patients who are taking drugs that inhibit monoamine oxidase A (MAO A) or catechol O methyl transferase (COMT).
