• Descrizione: Neurotensin (NT) is a peptide that has been implicated in the regulation of feeding behavior, cardiovascular function, and pain perception. The neurotensin receptor is a G-protein coupled receptor with seven transmembrane domains. Neurotensin binds to the receptor and activates it by inducing intracellular calcium mobilization and neurotransmitter release. This activation can be dose-dependent, as seen in experiments using rat brain slices incubated with different concentrations of NT.
