It has been shown to have potent antagonist activity against the NMDA receptor, as well as antinociceptive and analgesic properties in vivo. 2-(2-Naphthyloxy)propanoic acid also shows potent anti-inflammatory and cardioprotective effects in vitro and in vivo. 2-(2-Naphthyloxy)propanoic acid can be used for the treatment of bone cancer, congestive heart failure, diabetic neuropathy, or other disorders of the peripheral nervous system.
