Descrizione:4-(3-Nitrophenyl)-1,3-thiazol-2-amine is a spectroscopically active compound that has been reported to have a melting point of about 190°C. It has an absorption maximum of 208 nm and is soluble in acetone, benzene, chloroform, ether, methanol, and water. The yield for the reaction was determined to be about 63%. The chemical structure consists of a thiazole ring with two nitro groups on the phenyl ring. 4-(3-Nitrophenyl)-1,3-thiazol-2-amine has also been shown to react with amines to form oxychlorides. Citric acid can also be used as a reagent for this process.
