3-Nitro-4-chloro benzenesulfonanilide (NOCSA) is a drug that has been used in the treatment of idiopathic pulmonary hypertension. It is an experimental drug that has been shown to be effective in reducing the pressure of the lungs and normalizing dihedral angles in animals with experimental pulmonary hypertension. NOCSA was also shown to have a beneficial effect on pulmonary thromboembolic disease. The molecular formula for NOCSA is C9H6Cl2NO2S, which corresponds to its molecular weight of 266.36 g/mol. This drug contains an amide group and benzene ring, which are characteristic of aromatic compounds.
