Epinephrine may also be used as a local anesthetic or vasoconstrictor. L-Norepinephrine Bitartrate is a prodrug of epinephrine that can be administered intravenously for the treatment of hypotension in normoxia and bitartrate. L-Norepinephrine Bitartrate has been shown to produce vasoconstriction through alpha-adrenergic receptors in animals. This drug may also have some amide mediated effects on adipose tissue and cardiac tissue.
