Descrizione:Nonanophenone is an organic solvent that has a high boiling point, low toxicity, and low volatility. Nonanophenone is used in the production of microcapsules as a frictional agent that helps encapsulate hydrophilic compounds. It is also used as a catalyst for the polymerization of caproic acid and butyric acid to create polybutadiene-co-caprolactone (PBLC), which can be used to produce polyurethane foam and polyester fibers. Nonanophenone can be reversibly reduced to n-hexane by hydrogen gas or sodium borohydride.
