Descrizione:Nitrazepam is a benzodiazepine with hypnotic and sedative properties. It binds to the GABA-A receptor in the brain, leading to an increase in the frequency of chloride ion channel opening. Nitrazepam has synergistic effects with other drugs such as antidepressants, antipsychotics, and antihistamines. It is used for the treatment of insomnia and anxiety disorders. Nitrazepam has been shown to have a rate constant of 0.068 L/mg at 25°C in human serum. This drug can be analyzed by gas chromatography following derivatization with methanol or ethyl acetate. Nitrazepam is one of many compounds found in wastewater that may cause long-term damage to the environment during wastewater treatment. The presence of nitrazepam in biological samples can be determined by a control analysis using a method that employs high performance liquid chromatography (HPLC). Nitrazepam can also be detected by polymerase chain reaction
