Descrizione:2-Nitrobenzamide is an amide that inhibits the growth of cancer cells. It binds to epidermal growth factor and fatty acids, which blocks their ability to form a hydrogen bond with other molecules. This prevents the formation of a signaling complex that regulates cell division. 2-Nitrobenzamide has been shown to inhibit the growth of cells in bone cancer and cervical cancer by blocking signaling complexes that regulate cell division. It also inhibits the growth of ovarian cancer cells resistant to platinum drugs by blocking signaling complexes that regulate cell division. 2-Nitrobenzamide has been found to be useful in metabolic disorders such as diabetes mellitus and hyperglycemia, which may be due to its inhibition of protein synthesis.
