Octadecylamine hydrochloride is a chemical compound with a significant cytotoxic effect. It has been shown to have hypoglycemic effects in rats, and has been used as an excipient in pharmaceuticals. Octadecylamine hydrochloride is also a phase transition temperature (T) dependent material that can be used for wastewater treatment. The octadecylamine hydrochloride particle size varies according to the concentration of the solution and the pH of the water vapor. Octadecylamine hydrochloride has been shown to bind to chitosan quaternary ammonium and dextran sulfate, which are materials commonly found in wastewater treatment plants.
