Descrizione:3-Octadecanone is a fatty acid that can be found in the seed oils of Cochlospermaceae. 3-Octadecanone has been shown to inhibit the growth of colorectal carcinoma cells and also has anti-inflammatory properties. It is able to bind to pyridoxal phosphate, which is required for the synthesis of bioactive molecules such as fatty acids and prostaglandins. 3-Octadecanone has also demonstrated antimalarial activity against erythrocytic stages of Plasmodium falciparum, the parasite that causes malaria, and also inhibits cancer cell proliferation in vitro. This compound is an important source of bioactive molecules due to its functional groups and fatty acid content.
