Descrizione:Pivaloyl chloride (PC) is a reactive compound that is used in the synthesis of pharmaceuticals, dyes, and other organic compounds. It can be used as a precursor to amides, which are important pharmacological agents. PC undergoes chemiluminescence when reacted with hydrogen fluoride and potassium dichromate in the presence of an amide. This reaction mechanism can be used to detect small amounts of PC in solution. PC has been shown to have anti-inflammatory effects in autoimmune diseases and has been investigated for use as a cox-2 inhibitor.
