4-(Phenylethynyl)benzaldehyde is a synthetic compound that belongs to the class of aldehydes. It is soluble in acetonitrile and can be synthesized by a cross-coupling reaction between two different organometallic reagents, such as N-phenyltrifluoroacetamide or N-phenylmaleimide. 4-(Phenylethynyl)benzaldehyde has been shown to have cytotoxic effects on cancer cells and can be used for the treatment of leukemia and Hodgkin's lymphoma.
