Phenolphthaleindibutyrate is a chemical that belongs to the section of compounds known as phenolphthaleins. It is a lipase inhibitor, which means it inhibits the enzyme lipase, which is involved in the breakdown of fats and oils in the body. Phenolphthaleindibutyrate has been shown to be effective against Listeria microorganisms and other heat-resistant organisms. It has also been shown to be an optimal reagent for transposition reactions with chrysanthemic acid.
