- Aceticacid, [[difluoro(trifluoromethoxy)methoxy]difluoromethoxy]difluoro- (9CI)
Perfluoro-3,5,7-trioxaoctanoic acid is a chemical species that belongs to the group of perfluorinated compounds. It can be found in the environment as a result of anthropogenic activities such as use of fluorocarbons in industry and household products. Perfluoro-3,5,7-trioxaoctanoic acid participates in the metabolism of many sulfonic acids and is an intermediate in the synthesis of glutathione. This substance has been shown to have toxic effects on rat bladder cells at high concentrations. Further research is needed to determine if there are any human health implications from exposure to this compound.
