Descrizione:Pimara-8(14),15-diene is an α-pinene, a hydroxy group, and an isopropyl group. It has the ability to inhibit the biosynthesis of terpenes in fungi and bacteria. This inhibits the response pathways in these cells, preventing them from synthesizing secondary metabolites such as fatty acids and monoterpene hydrocarbons. The effective dose for pimara-8(14),15-diene is 0.3 μg/mL. Pimara-8(14),15-diene is most often found in extracts of plants that have been treated with methyl chloride or ethyl ether, such as trichophyton mentagrophytes or terpene synthase enzymes.
