Descrizione:Procaterol hydrochloride is a long-acting bronchodilator that belongs to the class of 2-adrenergic receptor agonists. It is used for the treatment of chronic cough and asthma. Procaterol hydrochloride binds to the 2-adrenergic receptor, which leads to an increase in cAMP levels and causes vasoconstriction and bronchial smooth muscle relaxation. Procaterol hydrochloride has been shown to inhibit the production of cytokines such as IL-8, IL-1β, and TNFα in human serum cells. The drug also has a suppressive effect on toll-like receptor 4, which may be responsible for its anti-inflammatory effects. Procaterol hydrochloride can be used in conjunction with other drugs that have similar effects, such as budesonide or formoterol, to treat chronic coughs or asthma.
