Descrizione:Polycaprolactone (PCL) is a biodegradable, hydrophobic and semi-crystalline polyester that can be synthesized by the ring-opening polymerization of ε-caprolactone monomer using a variety of anionic, cationic and co-ordination catalysts. It’s used in drug delivery systems due to its high permeability, excellent biocompatibility and full excretion ability once bio-resorbed. It’s suitable for long-term and controlled release of drugs due to its slower biodegradation in comparison to other polymers.
