Descrizione:Phosphoric acid is a colorless, corrosive, and volatile acid with a pungent odor. It is used as an analytical reagent and in the production of phosphate fertilizers. The Langmuir adsorption isotherm for phosphoric acid has been determined by electrochemical impedance spectroscopy. Phosphoric acid can cause significant cytotoxicity to cancer cells due to its ability to generate reactive oxygen species (ROS). Phosphoric acid also reacts with benzalkonium chloride to form a stable complex that can be used as a disinfectant. The decomposition of phosphoric acid is thermodynamically favorable and the reaction proceeds in two steps: first, the formation of phosphorus pentoxide (P2O5) and water vapor; second, the formation of hydrogen phosphate ion (HPO4-2) and water vapor.
