Descrizione:Pipendoxifene is a structural analogue of epidermal growth factor. It has been shown to have a therapeutic effect on bowel disease by binding to the epidermal growth factor receptor (EGFR) and stimulating cellular proliferation. Pipendoxifene also inhibits the production of inflammatory cytokines, such as tumor necrosis factor-α, and is an active form of polymerase chain reaction (PCR). The monoclonal antibodies against EGFR that are used in cancer therapy can be used in conjunction with pipendoxifene to improve their efficacy. Pipendoxifene has also been shown to have beneficial effects on diabetic neuropathy, which may be due to its ability to inhibit protein kinase C activity. Pipendoxifene has been shown to bind with high affinity to the breast cancer cell surface receptors and is a potential treatment for resistant breast cancer.
