Descrizione:Pentyl isocyanate is a colorless, volatile liquid that is used as an antimicrobial agent. It has shown to be effective against Gram-positive and Gram-negative bacteria and fungi. Pentyl isocyanate has been used as a polymerization initiator in the production of polyurethane foams. This compound can also be used as a control agent for blood pressure. The use of pentyl isocyanate has been associated with the development of asthma and other respiratory problems, although it does not appear to have carcinogenic properties. Pentyl isocyanate binds to receptors on human cells, which causes an increase in blood pressure by stimulating vasoconstriction or vasodilation. This compound can be detected by gas chromatography-mass spectrometry (GC-MS) and liquid chromatography-mass spectrometry (LC-MS).
