• Descrizione: 3-Phenoxybenzaldehyde is a chemical compound that is used as an analytical reagent in the surface methodology. It can be synthesized from 3-phenoxybenzoic acid and phenylmagnesium bromide. The synthesis of 3-phenoxybenzaldehyde was accomplished by the hydrogenation of p-nitrophenyl phosphate, which was catalyzed by rat liver microsomes. The resulting product had a molecular formula of C9H8O2 and a molar mass of 156.2 g/mol. 3-Phenoxybenzaldehyde has been shown to inhibit bacterial growth through the inhibition of fatty acid synthesis, as well as inhibiting fatty acid oxidation in recombinant cytochrome P450 enzymes.
