• Descrizione: Phenylmethanethiosulfonate is a haloalkyl compound that is used in the synthesis of cyclobutanes. It can be synthesized from cyclohexanone and chlorosulfonic acid, with pyridoxal phosphate as a catalyst. Phenylmethanethiosulfonate has been shown to have a toxicological effect on experimental animals at high doses, but not at lower doses. It is also an efficient method for the synthesis of prohexadione and petiveria, which are substances that inhibit oxidative damage by free radicals, such as mycophenolic acid.
