Descrizione:Prochloraz is an antibiotic that belongs to the group of chemical pesticides. It has a synergic effect with other antibiotics such as erythromycin and tetracyclines. Prochloraz is used for the treatment of infectious diseases caused by Gram-positive bacteria, such as Streptococcus pneumoniae, Staphylococcus aureus, and Enterococcus faecalis. Prochloraz binds to the bacterial 50S ribosomal subunit, inhibiting protein synthesis by preventing the attachment of amino acids to their corresponding tRNA molecules. The use of prochloraz has been associated with increased levels of benzalkonium chloride in drinking water.
