Descrizione:5-Phenyl-1-pentanol is a homologous series of compounds that has been used as a phase liquid chromatography (PLC) stationary phase. It consists of a dipole, pyrazole ring and benzoate group. The solute is cleaved by the PLC stationary phase to form two solutes with different polarities and thus allowing for separation of the analytes in the sample. 5-Phenyl-1-pentanol has also been shown to have receptor binding properties that are similar to those of diethyl succinate, which is used as a diagnostic agent for human cervical carcinoma cells.
