Descrizione

Prednisolone valeroacetate is an immunosuppressant that is used to treat the symptoms of inflammatory bowel disease and bowel diseases. Prednisolone valeroacetate has been shown to inhibit the growth of Streptococcus species by interfering with the function of toll-like receptor, which is a protein that plays a role in the recognition of infectious agents. It also inhibits the production of inflammatory cytokines such as TNF-α and IL-1β and stimulates epidermal growth factor production. Prednisolone valeroacetate has been used in conjunction with chitosan polymer and water vapor to create an experimental model for inflammatory bowel diseases. This model has been shown to be effective in inducing remission from ulcerative colitis in mice.
Prednisolone valeroacetate binds competitively to alpha-adrenergic receptors in cells, thereby preventing catecholamine binding and reducing inflammation caused by excessive stimulation of these receptors.
