Z-L-proline amide is a fluorescent compound that has been shown to be an effective spiroketal inhibitor. It is capable of inhibiting the formation of chloroformates and sulfoxides, which are important intermediates in the synthesis of aromatic compounds. The introduction of this molecule into cells has been shown to have proteolytic properties, which may be due to its ability to hydrolyze peptide bonds. Z-L-proline amide also has an inorganic structure and belongs to Group P2 on the periodic table. It fluoresces when exposed to ultraviolet light, which is due to its amide group. This molecule also has protonated chlorine atoms and chloride ions that give it a strong fluorescence property.
