Descrizione

Propylene carbonate is a nucleophile that can act as an electrophile. Propylene carbonate is a solvent for amino acids and epoxides, and it has been shown to be a bifunctional molecule in simulations. This compound can also undergo nucleophilic substitution reactions with epoxides, but not with other substrates such as alkyl halides, amines, or alcohols. These properties have been demonstrated using computational modeling of the reaction of propylene carbonate with epoxide or amino acid monomers.
