Perampanel is an adjunctive antiepileptic drug that acts as a non-competitive antagonist at the AMPA receptor. The baseline matrix effect of perampanel was found to be statistically significant, with no significant drug interactions observed. In clinical trials, perampanel was found to reduce seizure frequency in patients with partial onset seizures, with a median reduction of 28% from baseline. Perampanel was well tolerated and stable doses were achieved in most patients.
