Descrizione

Pallasone C is a synthetic quinone, which is the product of an alkylation reaction between 2-nitrobenzene and 2-chloroacetophenone. Pallasone C has been used in the synthesis of other organic compounds, such as phenazines and dyes. Pallasone C can be synthesized by reacting 2-nitrobenzene with 2-chloroacetophenone in acidic alcohols or ammonium hydroxide. The product is a yellow needle that migrates to orange when exposed to light. Pallasone C has been shown to contain a benzene ring, which reacts with amines to form a quinonoid intermediate. This reaction leads to the formation of benzoquinones, which are known for their antioxidant properties.
