Descrizione

Pinosylvin mono methyl ether (PSME) is a polymerase chain inhibitor that inhibits the transcription of DNA to RNA, which is required for protein synthesis. It has been shown to inhibit the transcriptional regulation of genes in vitro and in vivo, including those involved in the synthesis of proteins necessary for cell growth and survival. PSME has been shown to have inhibitory properties against colorectal adenocarcinoma cells and may be useful as a chemopreventive agent against cancer. PSME also has photosynthetic activity, which may be due to its ability to bind phosphorus pentoxide and water vapor.
